Yin and Restorative yoga are both slow-paced, prop-heavy styles that are gentle and good for beginners. While they share similarities, they have different intentions and poses.
Yin Yoga - focuses on stretching and gently stressing tissues to imporve flexibility, lubricate joints and hydrate connective tissues.
Restorative Yoga - focuses on supporting the body to promote relaxation and healing and to release physical and mental tension.
The focus is on soothing the body and mind through stillness and deep rest, using abundant props to remove any physical stress and allow the muscles to fully release.
